Signs in the house

  • Bites in a line or a cluster, usually on skin exposed while sleeping.
  • Dark spotting along mattress seams, box spring edges and headboard joints.
  • Shed skins in the same seams, lighter than the insect itself.
  • Live insects in the tufts and folds of the mattress, apple-seed sized.
Size 4-5 mm as adults; newly hatched are near-transparent.
Active Year-round. Feeding is nocturnal.
Nests in Mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, nearby furniture and outlet voids.
Risk Health and quality of life. No disease transmission.
Treatment window Within a few days. One heat treatment, then a follow-up inspection.
